Description
Blackpool Brush Railcoach No. 623 made its planned launch at Heaton Park in Manchester on 22nd January. The launch ceremony was conducted by Brian Lindop of Blackpool Transport and he had the pleasure to drive a packed tram to Lakeside and back. Also in service were Stockport tram No. 5 and Manchester tram No. 765. Sadly, No. 623 failed on its third trip due to a problem with a controller. At the time, it was thought that the problem would be soon repaired.
It was announced at the Ceremony, that later this year, the Heaton Park Tramway will be celebrating 75 years since the Brush Railcoaches entered service in Blackpool
