Description

An American visitor took this rare colour photo of a London E/1 type tram making its way along the Albert Embankment in 1949. Three years later, trams had ceased to run in the capital, Happily, car No. 1025 of the same type can still be seen in the London Transport Museum at Covent Garden, and No 1622 is being restored by the LCC Tramway Trust.
