Description
Blackpool
Blackpool is England's favorite holiday resort. It achieved this enviable position by having the knack of always being able to provide attractions which would fascinate the millions of visitors who flock to it annually. Blackpool as a popular resort started in 1781, when Thomas Cliton of Lytham, laid a road across the marsh from Preston. The foundattion stone of the Blackpool Tower was laid in 1891 and the opening ceremony took place on the 14th of May 1894.
